Welcome, Spring!

EYC will hold the annual Burning of the Socks on Friday, March 20, 2015. At 1845± (Local MRE Time) on that day, the Sun will cross the equator heading North and the Spring Equinox will arrive in the Maritime Republic!

Rain or shine, the Annual Eastportorican Burning of the Socks will be held at Eastport Yacht Club. Members and guests are invited to come to burn their socks, hear the history of the event, and partake in the consumption of Cold Beer and Fresh Oysters.

The festivities begin on Friday, March 20, at 1600 hours in the yard. EYC Shuckmeisters will be working their artistry.

Come down, enjoy a cold beverage and an oyster or six, and burn your winter socks in the bonfire. Bring a new pair to donate to the Lighthouse Shelter for those in need. Outfitters will be open, too, with the limited edition Burning of the Socks T-shirts! Don't miss it.

New to sock burning? This sacred ritual has deep roots, and has been featured in news stories across the nation, including in the New York Times.

Welcome to EYC

Not your traditional blue blazer club, EYC is built on activity, on the water and ashore. Our members are involved in a diverse range of boating activities, supported by social events and strong camaraderie. Known for our million-dollar view of the Severn River and Annapolis, EYC also is recognized in the Chesapeake Bay region and beyond as a club capable of managing major championship regattas, Friday night Beer Can races, and everything in between, as well as providing great social networking for cruising, parties, and charity events. It’s all about life on the water, and all about fun.
