2015 EYC Norm Baldwin Rockfish Tournament

"The Norm"norm-2

It's time to mark your calendars for EYC's Norm Baldwin Memorial Rockfish Tournament. This year marks the seventh annual event, which will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015.

For those who may be unfamiliar with this event, Norm Baldwin was a long time member of EYC who was a fixture in the Clubhouse,  loved fishing for Rockfish and spent many days each year fishing on the Bay, often with many different club member on board. Norm suddenly passed away in 2010 after starting a club rockfish tournament the year before and we remember him by continuing the tournament in his name.

all tackle logoThis year's tournament will take place on December 5 with fishing allowed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. within the Maryland waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Check-in will be at EYC with winners determined by longest length, and a gathering of the fishermen following the official measuring. As usual, there will be fish stories, clam chowder and hopefully some fresh rockfish to put on the grill. Thanks to our sponsor Alltackle for providing the beer!

The registration fee is $200 per boat including up to five fishermen. Additional fishermen may join a team for $40 each. An additional (optional) tournament-within-the-tournament also is available to enter with your online entry. Official rules are available here. We know it's December, but come out and enjoy some fishing and camaraderie before the season ends.

Welcome to EYC

Not your traditional blue blazer club, EYC is built on activity, on the water and ashore. Our members are involved in a diverse range of boating activities, supported by social events and strong camaraderie. Known for our million-dollar view of the Severn River and Annapolis, EYC also is recognized in the Chesapeake Bay region and beyond as a club capable of managing major championship regattas, Friday night Beer Can races, and everything in between, as well as providing great social networking for cruising, parties, and charity events. It’s all about life on the water, and all about fun.
