Sock Burning 2003

18:00/20/03/2003 (Local) the Spring Equinox will arrive in the Maritime Republic of Eastport! The traditional Eastportorican Burning of the Sox will be held on the EYC Jetty. Members and Guests are invited to come to burn their sox, hear the history of the event, and partake in the consumption of cold beer and fresh oysters.

Do You Shuck? Want to learn? The Board, House Committee, and Old Pharts invite you to partake in oyster shucking. Enjoy the event and demonstrate your prowess in shucking the bivalve. Oysters and Beer are FREE to Shuckers; non Shuckers are requested to "shell out" a donation to the EYC Foundation.

Top Shucker will be awarded the Golden Shucking Knife and appropriate notoriety from the competition! More details to follow. Plan your Thursday, March 20, 2003, shuck a few oysters around 16:30 and burn you sox.
