January 1, 2015
Welcome to 2015! It’s hard to believe we are in the New Year already. I remember as clear as day the millennium and all of the “end of the world” theorists waiting for all of the lights to go off and their computers to shut down at the stroke of midnight. Well, we didn’t have anything nearly as dramatic this year but I hope everyone had a warm and wonderful holiday with their family and friends.
I look forward to an exciting new year at the club with some fine tuning of the clubhouse, some exciting changes within our committees and of course the usual comradery which is a mainstay of our “little club that could.”
I encourage all of our members to maintain their volunteerism at the club this year. It is this connectivity that breeds community and the EYC culture that most clearly defines who we are as a membership.
I encourage our long term members to share their time and friendship with the newer members. The role of teacher and historian will help indoctrinate them into our culture and elaborate on our history so that we retain the identity we have worked so hard to establish over the years.
I sincerely wish our entire membership and the hard working staff a safe and prosperous new year.
It might be a little early to start thinking about February parties but mark your calendars for the February 28th Commodore’s Ball. Our hosts, Commodore Scott Miller and Suzanne Palmer, have great plans for a memorable event that you do not want to miss. Check the website for details as they become available and feel free to call the office with any specific questions. There are rumors of a ‘70s theme so break out the gold chains and Donna Summers records!
Open Marina Slips
It’s that time of year again. Want to join the EYC marina? Well, the time to act is now. Demand for slips is great so please call soon if you wish to join us for 2015. Also please remember that those that wish to be added to our wait list will be asked to submit a $500 refundable deposit. This deposit will be applied to the slip lease fees when a slip becomes available. Should you change your mind and not desire to remain on the waiting list the deposit will be returned to you in full immediately.

- A6: 30ft, 14’ beam $3255 annually

Online Bill Payment Systems Down
Unfortunately the online bill payment system has been down for a few weeks. Intuit, which provides the service, discontinued it without notice to the club and therefore we have been diligently working to find a work-around or move to another company. As we work through this process any of our other payment methods may be used for the 1st quarter of 2015. If you have any questions or would like to make a payment by phone we are happy to assist any regular business day from 9 to 5pm. We apologize for the inconvenience and should be back up and running before the 2nd quarter installments become payable.
The Staff Thanks You
On behalf of EYC’s hard working staff I would like to take a moment to thank all of those members who contributed to the annual employee holiday fund. Your generous contributions were greatly appreciated and went a long way toward a very merry holiday. The acknowledgement of our staff goes a long way with loyalty and tenure which also helps make my job a lot easier so I thank you all as well! Have a terrific 2015 and all the best wishes in the new year.
