2015 Annual Meeting
Please clear your calendar s to attend the EYC Annual Meeting when vote in the incoming Board as well as hear updates from all of the club’s committees. Of course the club will also vote on a Bylaws amendment addressing changes to the Senior membership category that has caused so much discussion during the year. We hope that all members come to listen to the proposed changes and cast their vote to help determine the way forward for EYC.
I also want to take a moment to remind our members of the strong comradery our history expresses and the spirit of community that our club boasts as we discuss the proposed changes. I suggest that we don’t give way to vitriol but rather a healthy discussion emphasizing respect for those with opposing views. It is this healthy discussion that has defined us over the years. Additionally, the mutual respect that our members have for one another can help remind us all of the foundational elements that define the “little club that could” and “can!
Join us immediately after the Annual Meeting to celebrate our roots for Founder’s Day. The annual celebration is the perfect opportunity to reminisce about the “early days” of EYC and share those experiences with our newer members. And if that were not enough the food and beverage selections for this yearly favorite can’t be beat! We hope to see you there!
EYC loves families! The club has done many great things this year to welcome families to the club and it is our goal to continue to enhance the offerings so that parents and their kids feel welcome and safe. Toward that end, we ask that children are never left unsupervised on or near the docks. We also request that any children on the docks have proper safety gear such as pfds and shoes on at all times to prevent injury.
The thought of a child being injured or worse is unbearable to consider and could also put the club in harm’s way from a liability standpoint. Therefore, we look to all members to help prevent any potential accidents. I thank you all in advance for the effort and attention to our most vulnerable members.
Please be advised that the marina will undergo its annual winterization during the first week of November. Please plan appropriately and feel free to contact me with any concerns.
