Furthering the enjoyment of boating!

April 1, 2016: Mother Nature has not been terribly accommodating for our annual sock burning for a number of years now but that didn’t stop the festivities! Many of our members threw on their flip flops and headed down to the club to the annual ritual to welcome in Spring. Socks were burned, cocktails were consumed and fun was had by all!

So now that we are official let’s start getting ready for a terrific boating season and enjoying our beautiful clubhouse. The House Committee has some terrific events planned and our staff has officially opened the outside deck for those nicer days. It’s the best time of year at the club so come down and join your friends for a nice meal and one of our signature cocktails!

Spring Clean Up

With the good weather comes the time of the year to help freshen up the club for the busy season. The years Spring Clean Up will be on Saturday, April 16, and there is something for everyone to contribute to the tidy up.

The club will offer complimentary coffee and Danish in the morning and a deli buffet for lunch for all of those members who would like to participate. Of course Juanita will be ready with her tasty Bloody Marys when the work is done!

Open Marina Slips

Our marina is filling fast for our 2016 season and there are only a few slips still available for boats 31feet and under in length. Unfortunately all of our landside slips are currently committed. If you are interested in one of the remaining slips act fast as they will surely fill up as soon as the warm weather takes over.

If you are interested in a slip and there is not one available that suits your needs then you can place your name on the waiting list by emailing me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. A $500 fully refundable deposit is required to place your name on the list.

Marina Water

By the time you are reading this the water should have been restored to the marina. Since I am writing this prior to that event that assumes no issues were encountered during that process. Look for confirmations in the weekly Blast for ongoing marina issues as they may arise. And let’s hope for no late snowfalls!

Families, food and fun!

Our always creative and fun Families committee is planning some great events for families this month. The popular monthly event Kids First Friday kicks off the month on the 1st with the movie “Beyond Beyond.” This is a story about wanting the impossible. A story about a little rabbit boy not old enough to understand the rules of life, who takes up the fight against the most powerful force. While doing so, he learns more and more about life. A great story for our little bundles of joy!

Towing Enforcement

Please be advised that towing has actively begun for 2016. Management and the EYC Board hate to see our members having to incur the expense of having their car towed.

Our goal is to maintain the value of membership by making sure unauthorized cars are removed to make room for our dues-paying members. Please make sure your parking sticker is a 2016 sticker and that it is placed on the driver’s side lower portion of the front windshield. Also, please remind your guests that parking in the evening is limited to the Yacht Haven lot located across the street.

Lastly, remember that parking in the area reserved for boats is never permitted with or without an EYC sticker.
