Food and Beverage Service

As we enter into the first high season with our new clubhouse we are seeing incredible growth and activity. The new clubhouse and its expanded offerings are clearly a huge hit among our members. Almost weekly we are setting new sales records for food and beverage and we hope this reflects the overall enjoyment of the clubhouse and its services.

This “second grand opening” has resulted in increased usage, however it also comes with some challenges. Our hardworking chefs and service staff are experiencing a transition unlike any before. Our chefs are learning to handle this new volume and are doing a great job acclimating, but we are still not where we want to be. The speed of service has been our primary concern and one that we are spending a significant amount of time addressing. The upside, however, is that the food quality has been very well received as indicated by our sales numbers and member feedback.

 

To enhance this even further we have recently updated our Galley Menu to address the desires of another portion of our membership. The new menu features some old items like a grilled cheese sandwich, gyro, turkey club, Caesar salad, taco salad and many others as well as a price reduction in our always popular hamburgers. Our goal will be to offer these items at a good value to address the wishes of our membership. We hope these changes will meet a broader spectrum of our membership’s needs as indicated by general communications and EYC comment cards that we review daily.

As a reminder we welcome your suggestions and if you wish to have something that's not on the menu simply ask your server and we will certainly do our best to accommodate. As I have stated before, the only exception will be during busy service times when that special request could potentially affect the service to another member. On behalf of the staff, I want to say thank you for your patronage and we look forward to serving our membership in a way that exceeds their expectations.

Towing Enforcement

Please be advised that towing has actively begun. Management and the EYC Board hate to see our members having to incur the expense of having their car towed as was the case with some of our members this past week. However the increased number of cars parked in the lot without valid identification has necessitated this endeavor.

Please remember to check your parking sticker on your vehicle and confirm that it is a 2013 sticker and that it is placed on the driver’s side lower portion of the windshield. Also, please remind your guests that parking in the evening is limited to the Yacht Haven lot located across the street.

Town Hall Meetings

Please make a special note on your calendars to attend the two special Town Hall meetings that are scheduled for Sunday, June 2, and Saturday, June 22. The topics will cover proposed bylaw amendments, long range planning and the club’s financial direction. Your input is critical on these topics. The direct line of communication from membership to the Board in these meetings helps determine our way forward. We hope to see you there!
