November 1, 2013
This year’s annual meeting is fast approaching. I strongly encourage all members to try and attend this pivotal meeting in the club's history. Having enjoyed the new clubhouse for one year it is now time to determine if the path we are on is the one that our members choose or we desire a slightly different direction.
Again, I encourage you to read the material provided by the finance committee and the Executive Board to familiarize yourself with the questions at hand. The files are available on the website. It is critical to have your voice heard if you desire the club to proceed in the direction that best suits your needs as one of its members. I look forward to seeing you there.
Dining Room Reservations
As the colder weather begins to set in and the seating on the deck diminishes we remind you that you are able to make reservations for dining room to ensure timely seating. We encourage members to take advantage of our reserved seating; don't get left out in the cold! Reservations can be made by calling the club's main number and connecting to either the member services manager or the hostess. Bon appetite!
It's not too late to book your 2013 holiday party at the Eastport Yacht Club. Take advantage of the outstanding facilities, amazing food and terrific member discounts while spending time with family, friends or simply a unique business get-together to show off your club. As always our calendar is filling fast so please make your reservations soon by calling the club’s main line and speaking with Amy Wales or Bill Kocan.
Marina tenants please be advised that by now you should have received your 2014 annual contract for your slip. We please ask that you fill out the information in its entirety and return to the club expeditiously. In order to efficiently replace outgoing tenants with new tenants we will be proceeding rapidly. Our goal is to have all incoming tenants signed up and in their slips by January 1, 2014. If you’d like to keep your boat at the club and have not already contacted Bill Kocan or Tom Spiegel, please do so now so that we can do our best to assure you a slip for the upcoming year.
Boat Show Bash Volunteers
I wanted to take a brief moment to thank all those volunteers who came out in the rainy weather and made the Boat Show Bash a success this year. Although Mother Nature was not as accommodating as we would have liked the event drew nearly 1000 people and all who attended seem to have a wonderful time. Thanks again for all of your hard work and dedication!
