EYC Frost Bite/OysterFest Cruise and Dinner in St Michaels

Enjoy the last EYC cruise of the season or come by your Land Yacht and venture to St. Michaels for all the pleasures that neat town has to offer, including OysterFest at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum on Saturday, October 29, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. OysterFest features live music, oysters and other food, children’s activities, boat rides, oyster demonstrations, harvesting displays, retriever demonstrations, cooking demonstrations, and an oyster stew competition among regional chefs.

As it is Oyster Fest, marina reservations are smart. Based on reports from last year, we have selected the St. Michaels Harbor Inn and Marina as “a favorite spot” for the trip. The marina is full service offering pump-out, wifi, bikes, shuttle service to town, complimentary continental breakfast. Rate is $1.50 / ft, with shore connections costing $15.00/30 amp and $25.00/50 amp. Contact the marina at 410-745-9001 ext 160 to reserve your spot. It is a popular boating weekend so book early.

Other marina options include:

  • Higgins Marina - Higgins is the closest marina to the town center. Two-night minimum (because of the festival) and they currently have a waiting list for the festival. Make your own reservations by calling 410-745-9303, www.higginsyachtyard.com
  • St. Michaels Marina LLC –located on the town side of the creek. Currently taking a waiting list. Contact them  at 410-745-2400; www.stmichaelsmarina.com
  • Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum – if you are a member – they will start taking reservations on Saturday, October 17. Call them at (410) 745-2916.

Dinner is open to cruisers and drive-ins and will be on Saturday night, October 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Dock Restaurant, 125 Mulberry Street, St Michaels. www.towndockrestaurant.com. Reservations for our group are required so please contact Pete Chambliss (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.; 410-991-4685) no later than Wednesday, October 26. Pete has planned for separate checks/order off the menu. Plenty of parking is available for our land cruisers. Phone 410-745-5577

This event is always a good time, especially OysterFest.
