What is Your Sailor's Level?

Novice: No sailing experience. Ages 6-8. First time sailors who are comfortable in the water with wearing a personal flotation device (PFD).

Seaman - Beginner: No sailing experience or moving up from Opti. Focus on boating safety, sailing terminology, wind awareness, basic sailing maneuvers, basic seamanship, and sailing a course.

Mate - Intermediate: Have basic sailing skills and know terminology. Introduction to rules of the road, basic navigation, boat controls, skippering, upwind course sailing, and an intro to racing.

Skipper - Advanced: Proficient skippers and crews who want to advance their boat handling skills. Focus on starting a race, racing rules, course sailing, tactics and strategy, and advance boat controls. All learners will experience skipper and crew roles.

Bay Week

Bay Week, ages 10-15, all levelsconnor and parker

This one week, full-day course explores the Chesapeake Bay, its ecology, history and culture. It features the local maritime industry, environmental education thorough the Maritime Museum, STEM activities, and a variety of sailing venues including the local sail loft and boatyard. Students will also enjoy dinghy sailing, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and big boat sailing. Cost: $385, includes t-shirt.  All Day Program for one week 9:00AM – 4:00PM.
