Junior Fleet

Welcome to the Eastport Yacht Club 2013 Junior Fleet program. The Mission of the Eastport Yacht Club Jr. Fleet is to support a Learn-to-Sail program that teaches student the basics of boathandling, seamanship, safety, and sportsmanship. The program strives to develop competence and confidence in our sailors in a safe and fun learning environment.

Our sailing lessons, offered to kids ages 5-15 and adults 16 and up, are taught by US Sailing Certified instructors with First Aid and CPR training. The EYC program emphasizes safety, learning, and foremost FUN, by teaching sailing, seamanship, navigational skills, plus an introduction to racing. Our program helps participants develop self-reliance, self-regulation, sportsmanship, knowledge and respect for the environment while ensuring boating safety awareness. With a combination of classroom time and on the- water time, classes are designed to teach the basic skills of sailing to beginners and to help hone the skills of more advanced students. Who can take our classes?

The program is open to EYC member’s and nonmember’s children ages 5-15. Our Adult program is open to students ages 16 and up. Registration is limited, and is on a first come basis. Class sizes are limited. Priority will be given to EYC members and nonmembers that have been in our program in a previous session/year.

Courses and Registration

Registering is easy. This year you can signup online. We take check or credit card payment though prefer check to save on credit card fees. Enrollment is limited for each class, therefore, admission is on a first come, first served basis.

NEW! Lunch Bunch Program

This year EYC will offer a Lunch Bunch program each day form 12-1pm. Your child can stay an extra hour or come an hour early and enjoy lunch at the club and activities. Students provide own lunch. Cost is $7/day. Must signup in advance as space is limited to 12 kids per day.
