November 25, 2011The holiday season is officially upon us indicated by the hustle and bustle around town and the activities at the club. This holiday will obviously be a unique one for EYC’ers given the changes that will be commencing with building and land development. We are so lucky! We get to decorate TWO clubhouses this year! I must admit that I would personally prefer to decorate only once a year and my wife might say that is a stretch! BUT, our hard working House Committee wanted to make sure our last hours in the old clubhouse were warm and in the holiday spirits so we will be decorating the existing clubhouse and then moving the decorations to the interim clubhouse when we are ready to make the jump. Check the EYC calendar for dates and times and join your friends for some holiday good cheer!
Building and Land Development
OK, let me guess what question is on the tip of your tongue….When will we be moving to the interim clubhouse? Was I right? Well, the answer is very soon and unfortunately that is about as specific as I can get. We are currently waiting for the City to issue our permits and once that happens shovels (or bulldozers) will hit the ground. We anticipate that date being in mid December but keep in mind that is an educated guess and as some of you may know “educated guesses” in these circumstances probably aren’t worth the diploma they are printed on. Be assured however, that we will let all of membership know immediately upon the permits issuance.
Did I miss another question? How long will we be closed when we change clubhouses? That one I can answer! We anticipate being able to move the clubhouse in two days. I would expect no closure for the bars and only minimal closures for the kitchen. We hope to keep the ball rolling without interruption as best we can.
Please feel free to give me a call personally if there any specific questions for which I can help. I am happy to let you know what I know and to help in any way.
Please check out my blog on the website to get up to the minute information about the club. Primary topics will include what happening in the world of the clubhouse renovation as well as great things going on at the club. You might even find some coupons for free food and drinks from time to time!
Unfortunately the originally scheduled 2011 Annual Meeting did not reach a quorum and was therefore unable to conduct any official business. Thank you to all of those that attended and we hope that the information that our IT committee provided as well as the discussion on Emeritus membership was enlightening. Your feedback was very critical and we will take that dialogue and use it as a start for further discussion prior to any additional amendments are proposed.
We hope that EVERYONE will attend the newly scheduled Annual Meeting where we will also offer and open bar to those with a voting card. The meeting will be here at the club and will be very informal with the voting in of the new Board as the only business…other than the cocktails afterward of course! Please see the club calendar for dates and times.
