Not a Moment too Soon...

March 4, 2012:  Tremendous progress was made this week. Demo was completed on Thursday and once the siding and Tyvek was removed we found that the decision to rehab the building was made not a moment too soon. As these photographs show the amount of rot and hidden damage behind the walls was very serious.

This is the view of the rear doorway that was under the deck. You will note where the plywood is completely eaten away by dry rot and where the plywood has turned black with rot. You will also note that the construction crews were required to put new supports in place to hold up the roof.

This is the view of the northeast corner of the Clubhouse where the handicap ramp went under the deck. Again note the rot in the plywood and how the plywood is rippled as it begins to deteriorate.

You will begin to see real progress being made now. The structural steel and elevator have been ordered. The final decisions were made last week regarding construction details. The standing seam metal roof had to go due to budget considerations and will be replaced with an architectural tile roof. I understand that the footers and underpinning for the deck will be dug this week. You can check out all the progress on the Club's web cam.

In the meantime, life goes on in Juanitaville Mobile Estates. Stop on in for a dose of friends and food. It is the cure for those wintertime blues.
