Join old friends and make new ones with EYC on the Water. All EYC members and their guests are always welcome. Watch this space for news of adventures and upcoming events around the Bay and beyond.
Well, our 2018 Cruising season is winding down. The Nor’easter that roared through the area the weekend of the 27th depressed the turnout of our last cruise of the season the Oysterfest at St. Michaels. Eight EYC members and two intrepid guests braved the wind, rain, and chilly temperatures to trek over to St. Michaels by “land yacht” and take in the festivities at the CBMM. The relaunch of the bugeye Edna Lockwood was the highlight of the day which concluded with dinner on the waterfront at the Lighthouse restaurant. As Pete Chambliss correctly reminded everyone “you don’t need a crowd to have a good time.”
As we transition and begin anticipating the 2019 season we still have an active program planned for the club’s membership.
End-of-Year Pot Luck
Our final 2018 Activity is our annual end of year pot-luck hosted once again by Prue Clendenning and Bob Clopp. This always popular event will be Thursday, December 6, from 6-9 p.m. Check your EYC directory, in hard copy or here on the website, for the address in Edgewater. Please bring a dish to share along with your beverage of choice.
2019 Seminar Series
The 2019 seminar series looks to be another crowd-pleaser. The schedule is still in draft form, but we plan to start off with a January 19 panel discussion focusing on getting along together on the Bay.
Remember that photo on the right? We will be bringing an Admiralty Lawyer, Waterman, and Yachtsman together to explore ways we can co-exist successfully on the Bay.
February 16 – World Traveler Matt Rutherford returns to EYC, specific topic to be determined over the next few weeks but hold the date because Matt always has a compelling story to tell.
March 16 – Mayor Gavin Buckley returns for another roundtable discussion on the state of the Annapolis waterfront. With the Hall of Fame moving to Newport, the completion of AYC’s repairs and their expansion, there is much to learn.
Watch for another date in April, as well. As always, all EYCers and their guests are welcome!
