We had a wonderful Fourth of July celebration with great music from Major Company and an amazing buffet from our Chef. We had the best seats in the house for the fireworks.
A big Thank You to my volunteers, Deb Bautz, Leslie Bayliss, Cheryl Lecourt, JoAnn Lavender, Dan and Marguerite Starsoneck, Joyce Fowler, Anne Oliphant, Maureen and Steve Malone, Barbara and Paul Roussillon, and Jo Rys, who worked the check-in tables. I also want to thank all of the marina folks for turning in their guest lists. It really made a huge difference in helping the volunteers with a smooth check-in.
Our Bastille Day took us to our own Wine Bistro and Café where we had the pleasure of sampling some wonderful French wines and food pairings. Thank You to Christine Minnick from Southern Wines, who was our wine expert for the evening to tell us about the wines that we enjoyed. She even had a trivia game for us to play and great prizes for the winners. Thank You to Anne Oliphant for helping me with this event. It was a fun evening for everyone.
We continued the fun on the 21st with our next Speakeasy where we featured “Three Ingredient Cocktails.” Our own cocktail mixologist Mike Thompson showed us how to make a Martini, a Gimlet and a Cosmopolitan and gave us a history about each of these. We had food pairings to go with our cocktails and there were a few surprises for everyone to enjoy. They left with their very own Speakeasy Martini Glass.

Join us for Havana Night on Thursday, August 16 – also known as National Rum Day. We will have Cuban music to listen to and I know Chef will have some wonderful specials for us to enjoy that evening. The evening wouldn’t be complete without a special Rum Cocktail. Line up your Cuban look and join us for a night of fun, food, music and Rum.
The popular 21012 will be our Music on the Deck for August 19th for you to enjoy.

House Committee has a brief survey on food service at EYC for you to take. The goal of the survey is to find out from as many members as possible what you think about the menu offerings, the quality, consistency and pricing.
It really is a short survey taking only a couple of minutes of your time and this is your opportunity to let us know your thoughts on this. Your names will be confidential, used for no purpose other than to know who has participated to help us improve our club experiences.

The club is now serving lunch on Thursdays so come in and take a break and enjoy the view.
Have a good look at the calendar as we have frequent theme nights or events during the month that are not publicized – you just gotta look for them.
We value your comments and suggestions so please fill out a comment card when you receive it with your bill. You can also find them on the table by the hostess stand.
Reminder: the House Committee meets every month on the first Wednesday at 6:30 in the conference room. All are welcome to attend a meeting and see if you would like to join us on a regular basis.
Note – There will not be a meeting in August. Our next meeting will be September 5th.
